- Prick holes in a spiral along a kitchen-roll tube.
- Push toothpicks through until they come out the other side and fix them with wood glue.
- When the glue is dry, snip off the protruding ends.
- Pour in a handful of rice or lentils and close the ends.
- Decorate the outside however you like: watercolours, stickers, wool…
