- Cut a heart out of a light-coloured sponge cake.
- Stand it upright in a muffin case using clothespins and toothpicks, then pour brownie batter over it.
- Once baked and cool, carefully pull out the toothpicks.
The cutting line has to run exactly over the toothpick holes.
